Bill Owen’s Comments: This piece is a follow up to another painting I did which was titled “Tailin’ Her Down.” During the fall round up in 1999 on our ranch outside of Blue, Arizona, some real good Arizona Cowboys had captured a maverick (wild cow). This follow up takes place the next day, when Wells returned for the count, which she had been left tied to a tree overnight. The overnight stay rendered her much more willing to be led into headquarters, or she would have been shipped out with the other cattle that has already been rounded it up.”
