Description

Of this piece, Owen says, “cowboys use the term Jughead to describe a colt whose head is too large for his body, and this young colt is a perfect example of that. Also, he’s only been rode a few times, and you can tell by his expression and the way he’s standing all spraddle-legged that he’s quite apprehensive as he waits for the cowboy to get on.” This painting was one of seven pieces Bill created for his 2008 Cowboy Artists of America Show & Exhibition, held each year in October at the Phoenix Art Museum. Bill’s peers, CAA Members, voted and awarded Bill the coveted CAA Award for the third time in his career, for the Best Body of Work.
