Prior to his passing, he was a good friend of mine who I used as subject matter for my art, off and on, for over thirty years. He was one of the best cowboys I have ever known. Here you see him on the CO Bar Ranch of Babbitt Ranches, located north of Flagstaff, Arizona. It is a mid-day; so the sun is overhead as I depict him as he does what so many cowboys do, holler to help prod the cattle along. If you witness a roundup, it’s one of the sounds you will so often hear.”
