Here they are getting ready to brand a colt at the Tom Moore camp on Babbitt Ranch. The cowboy roping is Ed Ashurst with the two cowboys on the ground being Ken James and Harvey Howell. This is how they branded colts for many years but in the 90's they switched methods.

"Cowboss of the Diamond A" depicts Ed Ashurst which was the cowboss at the Diamond A during this time. This piece has been purchased by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK and is now a part of their permanent collection.
